Piz Tschierva (3546m), Switzerland
2 August 2011 I climbed Piz Tschierva (from the Boval hut) while doing a 'C2' course (which is an advanced alpine skills course organized by the Dutch Climbing & Mountaineering Association (NKBV)) in the Bernina area of the Swiss Alps. We had originally planned to climb Piz Morteratsch, but due to high temperatures, we decided the snow high on the mountain was too soft and the avalanche danger too high, so in stead we climbed Tschierva. In the picture we're on the summit of Piz Tschierva, in the background Piz Morteratsch (left) and the Biancograt & Piz Bernina (center) are visable. Man, that Biancograt looks good!
